STEAM CLASSES
Kindergarten students have completed engineering and science projects including findiing the center of gravity on their robot, building a car from Power Clix, and creating symmetrical trees!
First Graders designed puppets, created an optical illusion, and learned to code a sandcastle.
Second Graders reviewed coding with DASH and designed a gingerbread man trap (Example of one PICTURED ABOVE).
Third Graders designed a boat that could float and sail, coded with DASH, and created a stocking that could hold weight.

The Library Makerspace has been bustling with activity as students proceed through the five steps of the STEAM PROCESS: ASK, EXPLORE, MODEL, EVALUATE, and EXPLAIN! Below are some examples:

LIBRARY
First Graders have been learning about folk tales and are experts on the 5 elements that make a story a folk tale!
Second Graders are learning how to find books in the Library by locating the call number on the spine label.
Third Graders have been introduced to the (RICBA) Rhode Island Children Book Award Nominees for 2023--writing book reviews about the book nominees we have read in class.
