BHS Update - March 31, 2023

BHS Update 3-31

Dear Pirate Families,

Every week I'm amazed at the responsibility and maturity displayed by many of our students. Our most successful students take pride in their grades, effort, and attendance. These students are learning to become contributing citizens in our community through their thoughts, words, and deeds. It's an honor to see them grow daily.

It's also refreshing to walk through our hallways and hear great teaching and learning every hour of the day. Our teachers find creative ways to keep students engaged in difficult topics. We see teachers working with students both before and after school. And, our teachers often spend many hours supporting our students in their athletic and activity interests. If you get a chance, please help thank our dedicated teachers and staff.

Go Pirates!

District ACT Test - April 4

BHS will provide an opportunity to students who've signed up to take an ACT within the school day on our campus. It will be important for the hallways to remain quiet and focused to ensure these students can thrive on a challenging exam.

Attendance Make Up Hours

Students who have missed more than eight absences in a particular class must make up their attendance to ensure their grade is not dropped to a D-. Make-up opportunities are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays during detention. We are quickly running into limited options for make-up hours; please ensure your students are on top of this requirement. If your student has a question about their attendance, please have them contact Mrs. Parkhurst in the attendance office.

Summer School Sign-ups are Open!

Many BHS students enroll in Health and Personal Finance classes during summer school to earn a 1/2 credit in health (required of all Missouri students for graduation) and free up time during their fall and winter schedules.

Other students may need credit recovery, also available for summer school students.

BHS Summer School Schedule: May 30- June 12, from 7:55 AM- 3:00 PM daily. Enrollment began on March 6 at 7 AM and ends on April 3.
