SENIORS!!! ConVal Scholarship Application - Be On The Lookout

Seniors are encouraged to check Naviance regularly for scholarship applications. Please be mindful of deadlines! The NH Charitable Foundation applications opened on January 18.

The School Counseling Department is pleased to announce the ConVal Scholarship Application. This is our third year using this process. The ConVal Scholarship Application, that will be posted on Naviance, is a comprehensive document designed to simplify the scholarship process for our students. The application will be posted on Naviance in February 2022 and due back to the counseling office by April 20th.

Seniors - Update Your Naviance Account!

Seniors have started to hear back from colleges that they have applied to. Congratulations on the many acceptances! Whether admitted, wait-listed, or denied, it is very important that seniors update their Naviance account to reflect the school's decision. Please see your school counselor if you have any questions about how to do this.

Parents, you can also have a Naviance account that allows you access to much of what is in your child's account. If you need help setting up an account, or accessing one that you set up previously, please contact your child's school counselor.

Express Admissions Days

Throughout January we hosted four Express Admissions events and over a dozen students were admitted on the spot to Nashua Community College, Plymouth State University, Southern New Hampshire University, and River Valley Community College!

Seniors! Are you considering applying to NHTI? Express Admissions Day is happening! Schedule an appointment to meet 1:1 with a college admission counselor and apply for FREE. Must sign up in the School Counseling Office at least 2 days before the event!

  • NHTI: Thursday February 10

Please contact your counselor to schedule an appointment.

BORROWED FUTURE - A New Documentary About Student Loan Debt

This documentary, released in October 2021, takes a hard look at the student loan debt crisis in America.

"There's a massive student loan crisis in America. Millions have found themselves buried beneath a mountain of debt. Entire generations are trapped. Borrowed Future uncovers the dark side of the student loan industry and exposes how the system is built to work against you."

All of the school counselors have viewed this film. We strive to help support students and families in making decisions about their post-secondary education that are both affordable and that fit the student's life and career goals.

This film is not school-sponsored, but rather it is a resource suggestion that families may find useful as they help their children navigate the college application and financial aid processes. The 90-minute film is available on several streaming platforms at a cost of less than $5.

Parents: Do you have a child with an IEP or a 504 Plan?

New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation (NHVR) is a division of the Department of Education that helps persons with disabilities help themselves to get a job, keep the job, and develop a life time career. NHVR starts working with eligible students as early as 11th grade, and can help with post-secondary education and/or training. There is no charge for their services, and there is a NHVR counselor assigned to CVHS. If you would like more information, consider registering for an information session. You can also reach out to your child's IEP or 504 case manager for information.
