You will have access to your course, but your teacher will not be available. Use this time to catch up on any missing work. Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Matthew Harrison

Mr. Harrison joined our Niswonger Online team last year. In addition to teaching several Spanish classes, Mr. Harrison has created brand new online Spanish I and Spanish II courses for our students. In these updated courses students learn the basics of the Spanish language using a variety of online tools. Students also have the opportunity to explore the Spanish-speaking world through a series of virtual field trips.

Thank you, Mr. Harrison, for sharing your passion for teaching and learning with our students! We are so thankful to have you on our team!

Course Spotlight: Fundamentals of Education

Fundamentals of Education is a great choice for students who are considering a career as a teacher, school counselor, librarian, or speech language pathologist. Students will explore the history of education in the United States and careers in education. Students will also learn about human development and its relationship to learning. This course is the first of 3 courses in our fully online Teaching as a Profession Pathway. For more information about this pathway, please click here.

AP Access for All Update

As we approach the end of our first semester with the AP Access for ALL Initiative, we would like to take the opportunity to express our gratitude to all of you for your support, encouragement and engagement in this exciting endeavor; building APAA.

As AP Access for ALL courses got underway for the fall semester we began to focus on how we could best serve teachers across the state. Through the grant we are offering free College Board training to high school teachers in their licensure area. We are coordinating this training with the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga to offer AP Summer Institute training.

Teachers are excited about this program and many of them are willing to come on board and teach a course section. We are grateful to our teachers as this program would not be successful without their desire to offer opportunities to students all across the state.
