Turn the Page Assembly - Oct. 14

Next Thursday, October 14, celebrated speaker, Manny Scott, will present to LCHS sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Mr. Scott is one of the original "Freedom Writers" (made famous by the hit movie of the same name), and his "Turn the Page" assemblies (TPAs) can be life changing for many students.

TPA programs are a powerful catalyst for growing compassion and excellence in schools and communities. A TPA is a first step to create awareness about the pain and challenges young people are facing today. It also unites schools in a powerful fashion, allowing students to see that “everyone has a story.”

Furthermore, TPAs inspire youth to take action and form habits that are conducive for success and significance. To quote Mr. Scott, “inspiration gets you started, but habits get you there.”

We are pleased to bring Mr. Scott's impactful program to our students, and we encourage you to speak to your child about the TPA and any thoughts or emotions they may have following the experience.
