Looking Ahead: Fall Shoe Drive

Hang on to those outgrown school shoes and worn out Summer shoes and cleats when you go back to school shopping! The HSA will be holding a Shoe Drive in the Fall which we will kick off at the Back to School Bash.

For each pair of shoes you donate at the Back to School Bash, you will receive a ticket for our prize drawing. Multiple prizes will be awarded!

Be sure to mention the Shoe Drive to family, friends and co-workers. Everyone has an extra pair of shoes or two cluttering up their closet that they would love to be rid of!

We will be accepting all styles of footwear, including new, gently used, used, and unwearable shoes, sneakers, rubber soccer cleats, and rubber baseball cleats. The HSA will earn $1.00 for every pair of wearable sneaker, wearable rubber soccer cleat, and wearable rubber baseball cleat, and $0.10 per pair for all other styles and conditions of footwear.

2020 Designer Bag Bingo Event - Chairperson Needed

We are considering a 2020 Designer Bag Bingo event to be held at St. Maria Goretti Parish. We are working to secure a date and looking for someone to chair the committee.

Subcommittees will be formed to organize the donations and raffles, the decorations and the publicity but we need someone to take the lead. This year's organizers are happy to help guide you. Forms and checklists will be available.

Want additional support? Ask a friend (or spouse) to co-chair with you.

Contact Lisa Hovind at for more information or to volunteer.

Earth Day - Thank You!

A huge thanks to Meg Dick, the Earth Day Committee, and all of the volunteers that made Vernfield's Earth Day Celebration a great success! The weather was beautiful and the students, teachers, and volunteers had fun exploring the environment and learning about ways to protect our planet!
