A Note from the Principal
After a two-year hiatus, it was a joy to have our band perform under the tent at our Spring Fling! Band students in grades 4-8 thrilled the crowd on Family Night, and it was the perfect way to kick off Spring Fling. Thank you to Mr. Frank Adams for working with our students all year and for all the behind-the-scenes tasks he completed to make it happen from set up and tear down to ordering t-shirts and so much more. We are so happy to have our band back this year as we have traditionally had one of the strongest bands in the area with the greatest number of students participating.
Today marks the last day for our preschoolers! It has been a true pleasure to see our youngest students learn and grow this year under the guidance of their teachers. Every time I visit the preschoolers they put a smile on my face. May God bless each one them and keep them safe this summer!
Enjoy the extended Memorial Day weekend. Take time to relax and spend time with your family before we wrap up the final seven days of our school year. We are almost there!
Peace and blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal
Green Knight of the Quarter
Delaney Doerner is a sixth grade student at Saint Paschal Baylon who is our Green Knight for the fourth quarter! Teachers were quick to share that Delaney was the perfect choice as our Green Knight. Delaney was nominated by Mrs. Dulzer. She shared, “Delaney’s quiet presence has a calming effect in the classroom. She shows Christ-like character by being polite to adults and kind to her peers. She is dependable, honest, and patient.” Ms. Raguz said, “What impresses me most is that Delaney leads by example. While she may be on the quieter side, Delaney sets a positive example for others. She is such a wonderful part of our SPB family!” Mrs. Popelka shared, “Delaney Doerner is a perfect choice for a Green Knight award! She is a conscientious student and a role model for her peers! She is always polite and willing to help both her classmates and teachers.”
Delaney’s family consists of her parents Carolee and Brian and her brother Ryan who is an SPB graduate. The Doerner family enjoys spending time together. Delaney likes to watch reality TV shows with her mom and plays volleyball and goes fishing with her dad. Delaney’s favorite subject is history because she likes to learn about the past. In the future, Delaney would like to play volleyball in college, and when she graduates, she would like to pursue a career as a radiologist, a pediatrician or a veterinarian. When asked about Delaney, her mom said that she is a good friend who shows compassion for animals. She said that Delaney demonstrates a great balance between work and play and manages her time well. Her dad shared that Delaney has the heart of a lion and is a super smart girl who always helps others.
Friendly, polite, kind and caring were words repeatedly used to describe Delaney. Mrs. Krogman said that Delaney is a diligent student who is driven to accomplish her work to the best of her abilities and achieve success. Mrs. Longano commented that when she had Delaney in second grade, she was always smiling and when she did smile, her whole face would light up. Mrs. Sarosy shared, “Delaney is a friend to all. Her quiet compassion and quick wit make her a joy to be around. She exemplifies a Green Knight because she is respectful of and to everyone.” It is a pleasure to have Delaney as a student at SPB, and we are blessed that she is part of our community. Congratulations, Delaney, on this well-deserved honor!

Playground Volunteers Needed-Kindergarten, All Grades
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:15 am-12:50 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Kindergarten, All Grades (June)

What is the Angel Scholarship Fund?
New Ohio Scholarship Tax-Credit Program Lets You “Turn Taxes into Tuition” by directing Your Tax Dollars to our Catholic School Students
Through the Angel Scholarship Fund, you can now contribute funds that will be used to provide tuition assistance for students to attend our Catholic schools, for which you may receive a 100% Ohio income tax credit of up to $750 ($1,500 if married filing jointly) against your 2022 state tax liability. In other words, the state of Ohio allows you to "spend" some of the state income taxes you must pay anyway to provide tuition assistance for students seeking an education in our Catholic schools. This SHORT VIDEO explains how easy it is to contribute to the Angel Scholarship Fund.
