School Updates for Families
Campus Updates
Construction Updates:
- Both Hamlin and Springfield will be closed between 81st Place and 81st Street at both arrival and dismissal
Traffic Updates:
- Families, please refrain from driving or walking through the school parking lot. This is to ensure the safety of our students during arrival and dismissal.
- Please be aware of the staff directing traffic. We understand that drop-off and pick-up are challenging but our top priority is the safety of our students.
- Do not move cones or park where there are cones. Cones are placed to ensure school bus access for curbside loading and unloading.
Reminder: Once school is dismissed, please clear the campus unless you are attending an after school program.
Bulls Fest with Special Olympics!
Our Special Olympic Athletes and Unified Partners had an awesome day at Bulls Fest on September 2.
Cyber Safety Presentations
Families joined Officer Tanksley to learn about the risks of using social media and electronic devices. Officer Tanksley talked with parents about how to talk to your children about cyber safety, what risks to look out for and how to keep our kids safe online.
Students in grade 5-8 also met with Officer Tanksley to learn how to be smart and safe online.
Back-to School Haircuts
Dawes parent and community member, Mr. Patterson, shared his skills with our students and families by providing no-cost back to school haircuts for student at the Back-to-School Bash and during the last week of summer break! Mr. Patterson spent 2 full days providing haircuts to dozens of Dawes Students.
