Heading into the Holidays
I am so excited about the Holidays! I know your sweet child is too!! One tradition that I have always loved is learning about Christmas Around the World!! We will "fly" to different countries around the world. This will help us brush up on our map skills, as well as learn about the traditions of different cultures.
Christmas Party Info:
I would like to have our Christmas Party on Polar Express Day. December 21, 2022. I will send a sign up link for goodies that we will need. I would like to do a small gift exchange. Please send a small wrapped gift, please do not spend more than $10. Please let me know if this will be difficult for your family, please let me know.
Reminders
- Please send your child with a water bottle, it can be a simple plastic water bottle. We refill it here in our classroom. We are out of cups, mini waters, and juice boxes. Your child needs something to drink during the day, they cannot drink out of the water fountain.

Homework- Sharpening our Skills
Letterland: We will continue to follow the Letterland Format, I have added a copy of the instructions and this weeks words here.
Reading: This week you will notice a new reading sheet coming home, that looks very similar to last week. This homework will target your child's reading fluency (how fast they accurately read) and allow your child to practice some of their comprehension skills. There is one question to answer nightly. Please note, every child has a reading sheet tailored to their current reading level. If you find that this is much too hard or easy, please let me know.
What's Coming Up!

Reading
We will be reading in order to describe how characters act. Describing how characters respond to events in a story will help us understand how and why they act the way they do.
RL.2.3 Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges.
We will also be reading several read alouds that align with our "travels."
