Message from the Principal
Dear Westridge Community,
A few weeks ago I mentioned that we would start a school-wide focus on Bucket Filling after Spring Break. As a reminder and as explained in the book, Have you Filled a Bucket Today?, bucket filling is “...when you treat others with kindness and respect...”
Now that this initiative is underway, we have celebrated students this week for all types of Bucket Filling. This has included highlighting participation, respect, kindness, doing the right thing even when you think no one is watching, and listening to directions the first time. Over the weekend you might consider asking your child(ren) how they are filling buckets at home and at school!
With a full bucket,
Jules Laaperi

Oregon State Assessment Opt-Out Form
State law requires us to inform you that a form is available from the State Department of Education that allows you to opt your child out of the math and English Language Arts assessments for the current school year. Should you wish to opt out your child, fill out the form and submit it to the main office at your child’s school. Please note the submission deadlines listed on the form. Meeting the deadline will help the school with planning and preparation. If you have questions or want more information about state assessments, please contact your child’s principal or teacher(s).
