*This Week*
This week we talked about the letter "s". We are learning about the various types of transportation. The students are working on learning the signs they may notice while in the real world. This month we are reading "The Little Engine That Could".
Next week, we will be learning about the letter "u". We will continue to learn about transportation and signs. You can help your students learn signs by reviewing the signs provided in their folders.
What's being learned in our preschool?
The children are learning the roles of police officers, firefighters and other community helpers in the dramatic play area. The children are also learning rhyming words. As a class we discuss different words that rhyme. In the math center, the children are learning about patterns they may notice when coming to school and what signs they may notice.

Directions:
- Prepare the fruit by washing the grapes, washing the apples and cutting them into small squares, peeling the bananas and cutting them into chunks, and cutting the pineapple into chunks, if it's fresh. Put the fruit onto a large plate.
- Spread coconut onto another large plate.
- Slide pieces of fruit onto the skewer and design your own kabob by putting as much or as little of whatever fruit you want! Do this until the stick is almost covered from end to end.
- Hold your kabob at the ends and roll it in the yogurt, so the fruit gets covered. Then roll it in the coconut.
