ELEMENTARY REGISTRATION, JUNE 1 DEADLINE FOR ASSURED PLACEMENT IN HOME SCHOOL
June 1 is a very important date for our district. June 1 is the date we use to finalize all sections and then assign staff based on those sections. It is imperative that parents enroll students by this date so students can be counted in enrollment and be assured of attending their home school. It is also important that parents let us know formally that they are moving and will not be attending HCE next year. Again, all the numbers drive the number of sections we will have at each grade level and the teacher assignments that follow. If you know parents who want to enroll, reach out now. If you are moving, please call the office at (215) 944-1600. Thanks for your help with this!!!
Online Registration: The Council Rock School District utilizes a secure online portal for a parent(s) to enroll their child(ren). Please ensure you have all required documents ready before starting the enrollment process below. The application functions best in the Chrome browser on a desktop or laptop.
Your child is NOT registered until all documents have been received, reviewed by central registration, and the final registration document has been signed by the parent.
See below under Community News if you are interested in the Champions Kindergarten Enrichment Program and/or Before and After Care through the Champions Program.
Project Sweet Peas
Student Council will be kicking off our last fundraiser of the year, Pennies for Preemies! This cause, will benefit Project Sweet Peas, is very near and dear to our hearts here at Hillcrest, as our very own Mrs. Schneider’s family was supported by Project Sweet Peas when her own son, Holden, was born 11 weeks early. Project Sweet Peas is a 501(c)3 national non-profit organization coordinated by volunteers, who through personal experience have become passionate about providing support to families of premature or sick infants and to those who have been affected by pregnancy and infant loss.
Over the next three weeks we are asking students to donate any pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, or even dollars! We will begin our collection on Monday, May 9th and end on Friday, May 27th. After our three weeks of collecting, the class that has collected the most donations from K-3rd and 4th-6th will receive a Popsicle Party compliments of our wonderful PTO!
Durham School Services
Durham School Services will begin serving Council Rock's transportation needs starting this August for the next seven years. Currently, Durham School Services provides school bus transportation service in several cities throughout Pennsylvania, extending from Pittsburgh to York to Philadelphia. Durham School Services will run a total of 146 routes for the Council Rock School District, and buses will be equipped with a variety of safety technology and monitoring tools. Families can read more information about the transition at the following LINK.
LUNCH INFORMATION
All Council Rock students in grades 1-8 are eligible to receive a free lunch if they so desire. A student receiving a free meal must choose at least 3 items for the lunch to be considered complete as per the Department of Child Nutrition regulations, one of which must be at least a half-cup serving of a fruit or vegetable. Anything less than this will be considered an a la carte purchase and must be paid for by the student.
Snack prices depend on the items. Snacks are now available for purchase during lunch.
Champions Enrollment for 2022-2023
Before and Aftercare Program
On Tuesday, March 15th, Champions will open enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year. Families are encouraged to re-enroll as soon as enrollment opens to save their child’s spot in Champions for next school year. Each site that reaches 75% of re-enrollment by Friday, March 25th, the students will receive a pizza party. If the children do not attend in the afternoon, they will receive a breakfast party in the before care. The Site Director's will be keeping track of their goal of 75% and keeping you posted each week on their progress. For more information, click HERE.
Kindergarten Enrichment Program
Whether your child attends morning or afternoon kindergarten classes, Champions offers half-day programs that extend the learning all day. Enrollment opens Tuesday, March 15th. More information about the program can be found at the following LINK.
