Mnemonic device
A fun way to remember the key factor in each of the seven articles is to use a mnemonic device. I came up with "Lindsey Eats Jumbo Shrimp And Sushi Rolls". The first letter in each of the words can be used to remember what each of the seven articles means.
Article I - "Lindsey"
The first word in the phrase is Lindsey and the "L" is used to help you remember "legislative". Article I of the Constitution states that the legislative is the branch who makes the laws when it comes to the power of the states. So as long as you remember legislative when you see the "L" you can recall what article I is about.
Article II - "Eats"
The second word in the mnemonic device is Eats and the "E" stands for "executive". Article II of the Constitution discusses the presidential powers which are put into play by the executive branch. When you see the "E" you just have to remember Executive branch to know what article II is about.
Article III - "Jumbo"
The third word in my phrase is Jumbo and the "J" can be used to help you remember the word " Judicial". Article III of the Constitution talks about how the Judicial branch which is made up of the supreme court. When looking at the "J" all you need to remember is Judicial to understand Article III.
Article IV - "Shrimp"
The fourth word in the mnemonic device is shrimp and the "S" is used to represent the word "states". Article IV of the constitution discusses the power and limitations each state will get. It also talks about admitting new states and the state governments. To remember Article IV you just need to know states when looking at the "S".
Article V - "And"
The fifth word in my phrase is and, the "A" is the word is used to remember the word "amended". Article V of the Constitution talks about the amendment or changing process of the constitution because they knew it was not perfect and would need to be modified. As long as you can recollect the word amend when you see the "A" you will know Article V.
article vi - "Sushi"
The sixth word in my mnemonic device was sushi and the "S" is used to recall the "Supremacy claws". Article VI of the Constitution discusses the supremacy clause which states that us or federal laws are the supreme law of the land. When seeing the "S" you will now be able to remember Article VI because you will think about the supremacy claws.
Article VII - "rolls"
The last word in my mnemonic device is rolls and the "R" is used to remember the word "Ratification". Article VII of the Constitution discusses how 9/13 states had to ratify in order for the constitution to be made the law of the land. Now when you see the "R" you can recall the word ratification to remember Article VII
