Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal. Shah Jahan reigned from 1628-1658. He was born in Lahore, India and died on January 22nd, 1666. He was a Muslim and he was buried in the Taj Mahal. Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal to house the remains of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to his 13th child.
