Community Supported Agriculture
An American Environmental Movement
What is CSA?
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a way for people to buy fresh, seasonal food directly from farmers. There are CSAs worldwide that farm with the same methods as Americans.
CSA Box
This is an example of the CSA box packed with fruits and vegetables for a waiting family.
How does it work?
Process?
Consumers (people who want to buy the product) subscribe to a box of fruit and vegetables to be given to them on a weekly basis. When the farmer organizes the box, he has it delivered or gives the box to the family.
Benefits
- Your fruits and vegetables will be organic due to the fact that you're buying them straight from a farmer.
- You'll be supporting a local farmer.
- Your subscription enables you to mark 'produce aisle' off of your grocery list.
- You'll get produce seasonally.
