Jesse Boyd Elementary------ September 19, 2018
Greetings from Dr. Rose
The next few weeks will be very busy as we move towards some awesome JBE traditions: Fall Festival, Veteran's Day, Boosterthon, and Thankful Thursday are just a few of the upcoming activities that you'll be hearing more about in the next few weeks. Please be on the lookout for information.
DUTY FREE LUNCH
Do you have a 1/2 hour to help out once a month? Once a month, our PTSO provides coverage for our teachers during lunch so that they can have a "duty" free lunch. This may sound like a small thing, but each day our teachers eat lunch while monitoring students during lunch. This allows them to eat and plan with their grade level rather than eating with students. Please sign up for a time to help monitor.
HUB CITY COLOR RUN
There is still time to sign up for the JBE PE Department's Color Run........ The Hub City Color Run

Cafeteria Menu
Our monthly lunch menu is not printed for each student, but can be found at the link below. The menu is subject to change occasionally due to availability or issues with staffing. When those changes are made, we try to put them on our JBE facebook page so parents are aware.

Students who read six books will be entered into a drawing to win tickets to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game on November 24. The information sheet will be coming home with students tomorrow. Read those books, and turn in your student reading log to your media specialist by November 2nd. Winners will receive four tickets and pre-game sideline passes to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game.

School Improvement Council
The SIC has 8 yearly meetings and requires limited work outside of those meetings.
Flu Vaccination
Spartanburg School District Seven has proudly partnered with ReGenesis Health Care this year to provide the school district with the influenza (flu) vaccine this fall. During these clinics, all enrolled students in Pre-K through high school are eligible to receive the flu vaccine. The flu vaccine will be administered as an injection/shot, as done during the previous school year. Flu clinics will be assembled with minimal interruption to the school day as we aim to make the elected vaccination as convenient as possible for both parents and students who wish to receive the vaccine. Information regarding clinic schedules for your child’s school will be released following the receipt of consent forms. Please read and review the information below.
Insurance/Cost of Service:
ReGenesis will administer flu vaccines at no charge to students.
If you are interested in your child receiving the flu vaccination at school:
- Complete the influenza vaccination Parent Consent Form. If the consent form is not filled out completely, signed, dated, and returned before vaccination date, your student will not be able to be vaccinated at the school clinic.
- Return the Parent Consent Form to your child’s school within five (5) days of receiving the letter (which will be sent home Thursday). Please have students bringing consent forms return the form to their homeroom teacher, who will then deliver paperwork to the school nurse.
Healthy Smiles
If you wish NOT to have your child screened, please complete the opt out form and return to school with your student.
