Another Week in 2nd Grade
We have had a very productive week in 2nd grade together! Your students worked very hard on their Unit 2 Benchmark Assessments in Reading and Language Arts on Thursday and today. We also had some fun weather science activities throughout the week. Both classes have been working HARD with multiplication! We also ended the week with some Free Friday time for good behavior! The 2nd grade teachers are proud of our students. I hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend. Please read through our newsletter for some very important information. As always, don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ms. Przedpelski
Important Information and Reminders
1. Book Fair:
Your child will be coming home with a "Book Fair Wish List" on Tuesday after we visit the book fair to preview books. On Thursday, we will return to the book fair to purchase books. If you would like your child to purchase books.... please return their wish list, circle the books you approve on their wish list, and send them with the correct amount of money for those books!
2. Science Fair Project:
Make sure your 2nd grader is thinking and spending some time working on their Science Fair project. This will be due on December 4th!
3. Reading Logs/Reflections:
They will be turned in at the end of November. Students are required to have read 1 chapter book, 1 non-fiction book, and 1 book of choice. They must pass the AR test to count it as a reflection grade! Any extra reflections written during the month will be rewarded with signatures! :)
4. AR Quizzes:
Please be reminded... AR quizzes will only be taken during school. I know in the past, students could take quizzes at home. This year, students will only be allowed to take quizzes during the school day. We have the iPads twice a week for your students to test! We already have 8 students who have taken and passed at least one AR test this month!
5. AR Goals:
If your child reads, takes an AR quiz, and scores a passing grade on THREE AR quizzes by the end of November, they will receive a dress down day at the beginning of the following month for reaching their AR goal :)
6. Media Center:
We usually visit the media center as a class every Monday! We will not visit this Monday because of the book fair! All fines will be waived until our Book Fair is over :) Make sure you visit the book fair with your student this week!
Book Fair is THIS WEEK!

Don’t miss the chance to light up a young reader’s face with a good book.
