TMS USES REMIND: @tmsremind
The parent/guardian survey that we administered during Back to School Night in August tallied that 90 percent of our families prefer first to be contacted via cell phone, and 67 percent listed email as their second-most preferred method of communication between school and home. Drilling down the data further, the frequency with which most parents and guardians would like to receive communication is on a weekly basis (74 percent), followed by 44 percent who noted daily or weekly communication (Facebook, webpage). Please note that we have a REMIND account for Terrace Middle School. During our Conference Week in October, we will be encouraging parents/guardians to sign up for Remind in order to better streamline our school-to-home communication, of course, keeping in mind our families' preferred platforms and frequency.

Mark your calendars now for Conference Week in October
CONFERENCE WEEK: Tuesday-Friday, October 17-20
- TMS's Conference Week is set for October 17-20, 2017. Monday, October 16th is a regular Collaboration Day with dismissal at 1:15. For the most part, no conferences will be scheduled for that Monday since teachers will be in their Collaboration Day meetings until 3:15. Tuesday through Friday, however, students will be dismissed at 1:25. Please make necessary transportation/childcare arrangements ahead of time in order to accommodate this schedule.
- During conferences, teachers will be discussing many ways for parents/guardians to be apprised of student grades, attendance, and important school events/fundraisers, etc. We realize that the multitude of communicative avenues can be overwhelming; therefore, the conferences' face-to-face nature is an invaluable tool for you, your child, and the school to learn about how to maximize the school-to-home communication loop.
- Please note that, as part of the Lakeport Unified School District's LCAP goal of increasing parent involvement, teachers are asked to keep track of parent/guardian attendance during the week that conferences are scheduled; please help the school district attain its parental involvement goal by attending your child's scheduled conference. Thank you!
