BALLOON LAUNCH

Patrick's former classmates will be gathering on the front lawn of ICCS near his memorial marker on Monday, March 18 at 3:15 p.m. for a special balloon launch and reflection in his memory.

ICCS PANTHER PALS

To prepare our hearts for the Lenten season ICCS has formed small faith communities called “Panther Pals.” The groups consist of a teacher/staff mentor and students in various grades. We will meet weekly for about 15 minutes following the morning announcements.

Our hope is that through our Panther Pals communities a special caring bond for one another will be formed. Also, that each faith community becomes one in which each person is happy when they see someone in their group and look forward to the next gathering. Ask your student about their "Panther Pals!"

REPORT CARD MEETINGS SET FOR MARCH 22- NO SCHOOL

Important information was sent to your email inbox last week regarding the upcoming 3rd Quarter Report Card meetings set for Friday, March 22. Parents have the opportunity to select a convenient time to meet with your student's teacher. Keeping in mind that this is an opportunity for teachers and parents to simply touch base face-to-face, each meeting has been allotted a short amount of time. Should concerns arise, parents and teachers are encouraged to schedule a formal conference for further discussion at the conclusion of the report card meeting.

We look forward to this opportunity to strengthen our partnership with parents as we continue our mission of strengthening spirits, minds and bodies through the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Report Card Meetings for 3rd Grade:

Parents will meet with their student's homeroom teacher, then have the opportunity to briefly meet with the other 3rd grade teacher, if desired.

Report Card Meetings for 4th-8th Grade:

On Report Card Meeting Day, a station will be set up for fourth grade, fifth grade and middle school report card distribution. All teachers will be included in your sign up email. If you would like to check in with one of your student’s teachers, you may sign up for a report card meeting time using that link.

Report cards not picked up on March 22 will be sent home with the student the following Monday. REMINDER, there will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 22.

CLASSROOM NEWS

GUEST SPEAKERS

Sister Bernadette Marie, Father Alan, Father Luke and Sister Anastasia visited with several classes at ICCS this week to teach them about vocations, Lent and the life and duties of sisters and friars. Thank you for sharing your time, knowledge and prayers with our students and faculty.

GOOD WORKS WENDESDAY

Yesterday was "Good Works Wednesday" in Mrs. Romano's Creative Writing class. Annie G. shared a poem she discovered by Abdulla Shoaib entitled, "Pretty Ugly." The work is an example of a Reverse Poem, which has one meaning when read top to bottom and another when analyzed from bottom to top. Students discussed Shoaib's message of self-doubt versus self-confidence and hate versus love.

WATER SHORTAGE SOLUTIONS

Our 4th Grade scientists took a trip upstairs to the Middle School Science Lab! They have been learning about chemical reactions. The classes worked on an activity that allowed them to help solve a fictitious town's water shortage problems by treating wastewater.
