The Weekly Hoot
June 17-23, 2019
Greetings All -
Hey everyone! I hope all of you are still enjoying summertime. I can see by Facebook that several of you are on vacations, so please remember to send me some pics for the Hoot! I am headed to Port Aransas for my daughter, Jacie's, Bachelorette Party this weekend and also to a party at Gary Kubiak's house, which I am a little starstruck by, I must admit. Maybe there will be a picture or two of some of that!
I have been working very hard on the master schedule this past week. We have a few things we need to change on it, let a few more people look at it, and work out a couple of kinks, but it will be ready to go soon.
Everything as far as waxing and cleaning is going well. Red hall is completely done, Old Blue Hall looks like it is cleaned and waxed, so furniture should move in next week, and if I am not mistaken, green hall is next. We are rolling on!!!
STAAR scores are in and for the most part look pretty good. I will send them out to everyone in a separate email so that you all can see them as well. As everyone knows, we ALL have a part in this, so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief that we have done okay.
I usually don't do Owl Wings in the summer, but I needed to send some out to Tonya Wyatt this week. Tonya found the high frequency word list in Pearson, organized it for every grade level, and sent it out to everyone. I appreciate her dedication to helping ensure the transition to our new ELAR curriculum goes smoothly. Thank you, Tonya!
It looks like we are only going to be able to do Story Hour through June unless I get some other volunteers for July. We have three Tuesdays open in July that still need volunteers. Remember there is LOTS of Hoot Loot involved. Let me know!
As I told you in the last Hoot, this summer I am going to put a question out to you every week and I genuinely want your feedback. A few of you have replied about an Awards Night from last week, but please, if you have any feedback on that, continue to send it. Here is the question for this week. I was looking on the end of year survey and it looks like most of you like having CLC once a week, but don't like Mrs. Jolly and Content Mastery being closed or Intervention being closed on that day in order for content areas to be together. I honestly don't know how to have content areas together without that happening, and everyone was in agreement that having content areas together was much more beneficial than not. So my question for this week is: do you know of a way to have the same CLC groupings, but not have to utilize so many staff members on "Wacky Wednesdays." Please send me any and all ideas because I haven't begun the Wednesday CLC Master Schedule page yet. :)
Everyone have a great week! Spoil those dads on Sunday! I know I sure do wish I still had mine. :)
Love to all -
-- Marcy :)
