The Dead Sea
by: Emma Conde and Cara Lane Charlet
The Dead sea is one of the saltiest bodies of water on earth.
The Dead Sea is located between Jordan and Israel in the Jordan Rift Valley.
It is the lowest point of elevation on earth, 2300' below sea level.
At least 35% of the water in the sea is dissolved salt minerals.
The dead sea's main tributary is the Jordan River.
There are many health benefits and resorts in the Dead Sea. Lots of cosmetic products come from salts here.
