Eid: October 15th
The Management of Muslim Society of Guelph would like to extend their heartiest congratulation on this great day. Today (October 14, 2013) approximately 3 million people are making their way to the grounds of Arafah. This is the time to say Inshallah Hajj Mabarak to all who are making Hajj this year. We pray to Allah to accept their efforts and bring them back home safely Ameen.
- Abu Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allaah (s) said, "Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. Fasting the day of Ashurah is an expiation for the year preceding it." [This is related by "the group," except for al-Bukhari and at-Tirmidhi]
Hafsah reported, "There are five things that the Messenger (s) never abandoned: fasting the day of 'Ashurah, fasting the [first] 10 [days of Dhul-Hijjah], fasting 3 days of every month and praying two rak'ah before the dawn prayer." [This is related by Ahmad and an-Nasa'i]

Being ME!
First Jum'ah prayer in a Guelph High School
On Friday October 4, Centennial Secondary School, a local Guelph Highschool, had the first Friday Prayer ever to be held in a highschool at Guelph. MSA Guelph is proud to have been part of making this project a success. Having MSA's within the local highschools around Guelph will only strengthen the Muslim Community here, especially the Youth as they will be the ones who will one day be taking over our roles. Let's continue to support!
