BOT Staff Trustee

I wish to inform you that Hayley Williams has won the Staff Trustee position for the next three years. Hayley has had previous experience in this role and will be an asset to the Board of Trustees going forward.

Hayley Williams takes over from Sally Findlay, who carried out the Staff Trustee role from 2019- 2022. Sally was an amazing team player, who always put the students interests first and could be relied on for a practical and user- friendly viewpoint. On behalf of the entire School Community we thank Sally for her contribution.

The Passing of Queen Elizabeth II

I would like to acknowledge the immense job Queen Elizabeth II carried out for her home nations and across the Commonwealth. 70 years service as a Queen is a feat we may never see again. Resilience, Determination, Aroha, Manaakitanga and Loyalty come to mind when I think of the many qualities of the Queen. Along with the rest of our nation we will be honoring her passing on Monday 26th September with a one off Public Holiday. As a sign of respect our flag has been flying at half mast this week. Arohanui!

Waikato Full Primary Cross Country 2022

We are delighted that we will be running this event in 2022, after two covid affected years.

The event will take place at Boyd Park/ Wetlands on Wednesday 21st September 2022 (Saving Day Thursday 22nd September 2022). Currently, we have 40 schools registered. Like any event we require helpers (mainly Marshalls) to assist in order to make the day a success. If you can assist please contact John Byers on 021 1381983 or john.byers@stanleyave.school.nz.

Thank you for your support.

Thank you also to Te Aroha Vets and Jacquii Malone for donations and props to transform the Library into a Pet Wonderland. This Paws for Books-Book Fair Week could not be successful if it wasn't for all of you. We have had a fabulous time and collected $1035.90 profit to be used to purchase more incredible books for our Library.

Waiata at Best Start Pre School

In support of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, Stanley Avenue School was invited to Best Start Pre-School to share some waiata. On Thursday morning, some Team Ruru students from our Kapa Haka group walked to Best Start.

"It was a great experience to perform for the younger children and interact with them in their learning environment. Thank you Best Start for having us, we really enjoyed it." Aiva Valencia

"I enjoyed having fun with the kids and talking to my old teachers." Quartez McLaren

We are very proud of all the students who represented Stanley Ave. The Manaakitanga between our two kura was fantastic to see.
