This Week's Lessons
This week's lesson schedule is linked below.

7th Graders will be working on p. 6 in their method book and continuing to make tweaks to their solos.
6th Grade Solo Night-January 10
6th Grade Solo Night is this Wednesday, January 10 from 5:30-8:00 PM. Please check the attached schedule for your student's most current time and let me know ASAP if you notice a scheduling conflict as attendance will be taken. Students should plan on arriving at Prairie View at least 10 minutes prior to their scheduled time to warm-up and head to their room early. Students are encouraged to dress nice, but it is not required. Parents are also encouraged to attend!
We hope this will be a positive experience for your student-the goal is to have the opportunity to work with and learn from a specialist on his/her instrument.
It's Registration Time
It's hard to believe that registration forms for next year's classes will go out to students this week! On Monday, 7th grade students will meet CHUMS band teacher, Mr. Mesner, and hear about the opportunities in band at Cardinal Heights. Additionally, all students will get a chance to check out what some of our older musicians are doing at events such as Epoch Sound Night, Band O'Rama, and the Memorial Day Parade Rehearsal.
You quite simply will not find another band program as comprehensive as Sun Prairie's in the state and our staff work hard to provide students with high-quality musical experiences across the board. We would like to encourage your student to continue the journey on his/her instrument in band next year. We know that scheduling can be confusing so please do not hesitate to contact us with questions or problems that you run into in this important process.
Epoch Sound Night
"Epoch Sound" is our high school pep band and they have invited us to perform with them at a boys basketball game on Friday, January 26. We hold a rehearsal, social, and pizza dinner after school on the 26th before taking busses to the High School.
Before break, students received information and a permission form for the event. Signed forms and $5 for pizza are due back to us no later than Friday, January 19. Due to space constraints, this is a hard deadline.
While this event is not required, it will be a great time and a fantastic opportunity for students to use their musical skills to support the athletic program and to interact with some older musicians who were once in their shoes. Information is linked below.
