R FACTOR DISCIPLINE IN REVIEW
This month we are reviewing the first three disciplines we have learned so far. They are the following:
GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY
The Ohio Dental Association in conjunction with the Dental Center of Northwest Ohio will be having their annual Give Kids a Smile Day on Friday, February 2, 2018. Local dentists donate their time and expertise to treat children who do not normally have access to dental care, free of charge. The event will be hosted at the Dental Center of Northwest Ohio’s Van Wert Smile Office. In order for your child to receive the services offered the parent/guardian must complete a registration form and return it to your child’s school office no later than Wednesday, January 17, 2018. The dental staff will call the parent/guardian with appointment time. The form to be completed and returned to the school office can be found on the Superintendent’s Weekly Update. If you wish to mail the form yourself the address and deadline are listed on the registration form.

R FACTOR IN ACTION AT THE HIGH SCHOOL
E+R=O
We see these posters all over the district but what do they mean? It is not some random science equation Mr. Panico is making kids memorize. It is a thorough process that makes us evaluate our responses to events going on around us. Let’s take for instance that you want to get an A on your next English test but you have gotten a C on every test so far this year, what do you have to do? You are going to have to change the way you prepare for the test. The test is the E or the Event. You can’t really change the test. In this case someone else controls that. The O is the Outcome or the A that you want to get, so what you have to change is the R or the Response. What are you going to do differently to get the A instead of the C that you have been getting?
Today was the big day for the R Factor workshop with student's leading the way.
Students did presentations, explanations and activities.
