Hatchet Happenings
March 2023
Disability Awareness Basketball Game
Our Lady Hatchet Basketball Program has teamed up with our friends over at Developmental Services, Inc. to bring a first-ever Disability Awareness Basketball Game to The Hatchet House!
It was a great night and a great opportunity to work together to raise awareness and raise funds for our local individuals with disabilities. All proceeds from the night went to our local DSI chapter.
There was the Chuck A Duck contest, a half-pot drawing, concessions, a performance by Washington Winds Band, face painting, and cheers led by our WHS Cheer Squad! What a fun night!
Time Traveling to the Future
There were some deep conversations about how they want to treat their future family and their desire for a family, a certain amount of children, and complete their family with pets. These conversations were well thought out and intriguing to hear. One thing is for sure, these young students have big plans for their future and they plan to work towards their goals each and every day!

Save a Life Tour-Impaired and Distracted Driving Prevention Program at WHS
Distracted driving kills more than 3,000 people each year. That is why Indiana enacted a hands-free law that prohibits drivers from holding mobile devices in order to reduce distracted driving.
After hearing a presentation from the Indiana Motor Truck Association about the dangers of distracted driving and their #PUTTHEPHONEDOWN campaign, students had the opportunity to experience an interactive simulation demonstrating the effects of impaired and distracted driving behavior.
You can support this valuable educational program by purchasing a Save a LIfe Tour license plate for your vehicle. 100% of these funds go toward distracted driving education within the state of Indiana.
