School Day SAT for 11th grade Students is Coming!
We are excited to offer the School-Day SAT® at Harmony School of Nature on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
All 11th grade students will be taking the test free during school hours, at our high school.
Offering the test during school hours allows students to participate without changing their routines or missing commitments such as work or extracurricular activities. Major benefits of an SAT ®school day administration include: improves access and convenience; increases overall student participation and creates a college-going-culture; and minimizes test-day stress because students are in a familiar location with familiar staff.

Teacher Feature
A Man with a Vision for Change
By Diana Vu
Despite growing up with a less than perfect environment, Mr. WillIiam Manual (“Mr. William”) has many ambitious aspirations. His years in high school were an important time for him to get to know and change himself. Coming from a traumatic background, it took time for Mr. William to have a positive aspect of his childhood. Initially, he did not really care about school, but as he grew to understand what he was learning, his interest in school increased. Unlike Harmony’s system, his high school had a big spacious campus, so students were able to be more individualized and specialized in their options. His high school experience ended up rather memorable. He was the youngest member of his pep rally group, The Trojan Men. They went to every prep rally with a skit to energize the audience.
However, his college experience was quite life-changing. In the beginning, all of his high school friends joined him in college, but as the years flew by, he was the only one out 12 to graduate, opening his eyes even further to the importance of education. Mr. WIlliam believes that Harmony has the potential to improve itself if effort was put in. One thing he truly believes is that seniors should have more freedom. They are about to venture out into the world but he believes rules and restrictions on things such as uniforms should be loosened up a bit. In less than a year, no one will be there to tell them to get to class, where to be and when, and once they realize they have that much freedom, many don’t adapt well and end up not making it through the first half of their freshman year. But he summarizes that HSN does in fact do a better job than most high schools at overall life preparation.
If he ever found his passion for teaching waning, he believes he would become involved in politics. “Both fields,” he muses, “prepare people for the future, making them aware of world issues, and empowering them with the capabilities to make changes in our communities. And nothing is more satisfying than seeing a student in high school change his/her priorities when it comes to education, and watching young adults work at change in the larger world community.”
Now THAT is a man who values change. As long as it’s for the better...

Payments may also be made in the school office.
Should a student’s meal account balance fall below $0, he /she will be allowed to charge up to -10 $ DISTRICT LIMIT. Once the negative meal account balance limit is reached, the student will receive an alternate meal. Alternate meals consist of cereal, fruit, and milk for breakfast; and for lunch, a sandwich, vegetable, and milk.
