TAG TIMES YEAR IN REVIEW
Clear Creek Edition May 2016
READING
We read a book called The Boy On The Wooden Box about the holocaust. Then the 4th graders went to a play that was also about the Holocast called ''And Then They Came For Me''.
Then we read five books to prepare for Bookfest. Bookfest is a field trip to NKU. The fifth graders attended classes about the books that we read. We made a book trailer on The Boundless for a Bookfest competition. (See the link below.) Sadly, we didn't win, but we had fun!
Also, all year we did something that we called Word Work. Word Work is a packet of homework we had to complete every week. We had to define latin roots and other activities.
Reading TAG is a lot of fun even though it is hard work.

FIFTH Grade Math
Along with SCHOOLOGY, we used Khan Academy ,which helps us practice different math strategies. We sometimes use Brainpop to help us with different subjects.
We can work on Khan Academy all summer! If you forget your password, email Mrs.Rigney.

Creativity and Art
There was a Kentucky Conservation Program Poster Contest and we all made posters. I was declared Clear Creek Elementary's winner with my poster.
We had to read and write articles about different toys and what toys kids used to play with in history. After that, we had to design our own "perfect toy." Later in the year, we read about standardized testing. We had to design our own tests about how to teach kids.
Mrs. Rigney always keeps her creativity and art kids working hard!
