Our Tweetcher for the Week of 11/5 was.....Jerren Pittaluga
Jerren has been doing a fabulous job of highlighting the active learning she provides her students. We appreciate the way she is showcasing the unique learning experiences happening in her classroom!
Our Tweetcher for the week of 11/12 is.......Jennifer Petry
Thanks to 1st grade teacher, Jennifer Petry and the great lesson and opportunity she provided her students. Jennifer's students' project made such an impact that they received a personal video message from Chris Stout who is up for an award through CNN!
Not only was it a great project, but Jennifer made sure to document it with pictures!

GET TO KNOW......Lori Johnson
*Tell us what you do (and have done) in the CSD, how long you have been here and why you enjoy being a Cardinal.
I’m a special education teacher and was originally hired by the Clinton School District as the Employability teacher. The majority of my teaching experience has been in alternative education, so when the CGAP/MO Options position became available, I applied for it and that is the role I’m currently in.
I love being a Cardinal because of the feeling of family. Everyone that I work with has warmly welcomed me into the district. Although I’m actually a part of the CHS program, I’m located at CTS. I love the smaller environment of the technical school and I get to work with some great folks! I feel fortunate.
*Tell us a little bit about your family/where you are from
It’s difficult to say where I’m from, because as a child my family relocated about every two to three years. After all four of us kids were grown, my parents chose Clinton as their place to retire 30 years ago. Although none of us are actually from here originally, it became home to us because of Mom and Dad. I moved to Clinton four years ago in order to help care for them. Sadly, both have passed away in the past two years. I’m so glad I chose to be here with them, but it’s been a tough couple of years...they were the best! I miss them very much.
I relocated here from Colorado. We raised our two boys, Sam and Joseph, in Ft. Collins. Sam, 26, is a cinematographer who recently moved to Los Angeles from Denver. Joseph, 24, lives in Colorado Springs and is an ice dancer on the U.S. Figure Skating Team, a figure skating coach, and a Gyrotonics instructor. I also have two Golden Retrievers, Daisy and Crimson Tide, a German Shepherd, Doc Holliday, and a cat, Phoebe.
*If you were to write a book about your career in education, what would the title be?
"It's Never Too Late"
*What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a U.S. Forest Ranger. I love the outdoors and just about any outdoor recreational activity you can name!
*Favorite food you could eat every day and never grow tired of it?
This is really tough because there aren’t many foods that I DON’T like! I guess something that I come close to eating everyday is popcorn!
*What are 3 things people would be surprised to know about you?
Let's see......I have had some varied employment opportunities throughout the years!
1). I worked as an Imagery Analyst for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in Washington, D.C. after graduating from Kansas State with my undergraduate degree.
2). I was a Graduate Assistant while I was working on my master’s degree at Oklahoma State and taught Beginning Golf.
3). And, when my boys were young, I was a ski instructor at Keystone Ski Resort for a couple of seasons.
