Music Notes!
We are Singing into SPRING!
K-1 - Our Kindergartners and First Graders are preparing for their concert on May 24. There are two concerts - 10 am and 2 pm - due to limited seating - please choose one concert.
2-3 - Our Second and Third Graders finished a terrific concert ! Their singing was beautiful. I'm very proud of them.
Our Second Graders are learning about the Orchestral instrument families - percussion, brass, woodwinds and strings.
Our third graders are singing, playing, and mapping our song experiences.
4-5 - We continue to study the recorder and are learning to connect the sounds we hear to the notes we see on the staff

April is Math Month!
Bread Tag Collection starts in April!
Last year we collected Bread/Fruit Tags to recycle
with a nonprofit organization called Danielle Cares for Chairs as a service project
to celebrate Math Awareness Month.
This organization is able to work with a recycling group, and when they reach
250,000 bread tags, the group is able to purchase a mobility device
for children in need. Last year our goal was to recycle 4,000 bread tags,
1,000 per elementary school. We exceeded that goal and recycled just under 6,000.
This year I am challenging the elementary schools to recycle 2,000 bread tags each.
I know bread tags have been saved, and the office containers have been trickling in all year.
Now's the time to unload the bread tags. Please begin to bring them in starting April 10th - April 28th.
Each classroom will have a container to collect. Thanks for your participation.
Sincerely,
Carmen Tawney
