Back to School Update
I hope this Update finds you well, rested and recharged for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.
We are hard at work prepping for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot wait until Tuesday, September 3 when our students arrive! Listed below, you will find information pertaining to some key back to school events and dates to add to your family calendar. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 734-433-2201.

Here are a few keys dates to mark on your calendar:
Wednesday, August 26 - FRESHMEN ORIENTATION
- 7:55am - 12:00pm
- Class of 2023 should report to the Commons by 7:45am
Wednesday, August 26 - FRESHMEN iPad Pickup & Picture Day
- iPad pickup ~ 12:00pm (after orientation in Commons)
- Pictures ~ 12:15 - 1:30pm (Media Center after iPad pickup)
Wednesday, August 28 - OPEN HOUSE (5-7pm)
- This will be a "drop-in" format (similar to NCE, SME & BMS)
- 5:00-5:25pm School Profile Presentation (CHS Auditorium)
Thursday, August 29 - 10th, 11th & 12th grade iPad Pickup
- 8am-11am & 1pm-4pm in the Media Center
Thursday, August 29 - 10th, 11th & 12th Picture Day
- 1pm-4pm in the Media Center
Tuesday, September 3, 2019 - 1ST DAY OF SCHOOL!
- 1st day of school for students
- 8:00am - 2:52pm

Please welcome the following individuals to our CHS team:
Phillip Sylvester (Wayne State University) – Music Education (Orchestra)
Prior to coming to CHS, Mr. Sylvester recently completed a long-term substitute teaching position with the Rochester Public School District in the Spring of 2019. Additionally, he completed his student teaching at Grosse Pointe South High School during the 2018-2019 school year. He is a graduate of Wayne State University with a BA in Music Education.
Katherine Beck (University of Michigan) - French
For the last three academic years, Ms. Beck taught international baccalaureate level French courses at Washtenaw International High School. She obtained her BA (French and Political Science) and MA (Educational Studies) from the University of Michigan.
Jason Morris - Assistant Athletic Director/Dean of Students
Effective July 1, Mr. Morris has moved to a full-time position with the CHS admin team and will be overseeing/supporting student discipline (grades 11 & 12), attendance (9-12), online learning and district communication.
