Distance Learning Updates
Happy Spring Break! I hope that everyone is getting more adjusted to a routine of remote learning. These first few weeks were spent getting all students connected with devices and internet, learning the new platforms, reconnecting with teachers, and developing routines. Starting on April 20, you can expect new learning of essential standards. These essential standards were developed by teachers to make sure that students are taught and learn the concepts to be successful in the next grade level. Teachers will be teaching new lessons through either videos or Zoom-type meetings.
During Break, please have students submit any missing or make-up work from prior to March 13. That work with help to increase grades for 3rd quarter report cards. Report cards will be sent to families the week of April 27. The report cards will state that the grade is based only on work until the school closure on March 13. Grading procedures for 4th Quarter are still being discussed at the district level and more information is to come. In addition, students in the wheel will stay in their 3rd Quarter classes for the remainder of the school year.
In the weeks after Spring Break, information will be given regarding picking up of personal belongings, such as PE locker items, items from classrooms, workbooks, medications, etc. There will be a scheduled drive-thru to pick up all items. At this time, you will also return any library books, teacher's classroom library books, sports jerseys, etc. We will plan for a different pickup and drop-off of textbooks, awards, and yearbooks in June.
Take care and please let me know if you need anything.
