Notes from Esther....
Please make sure that you upload your PSMs into the shared drive and update the PSM tracking sheet be sure to include the parent's email address and your email address on the tracking sheet.
Remember to follow up with parents to ensure that they have signed PSMs by Nov. 3rd and share the access code [Park Crest] with them.
Don't forget your Monthly 1069 will be due by Nov. 3rd.
Discipline Committee Update
The discipline committe is excited to share our cycle 1 progress toward the Campus Improvement Plan Performance Objective 6:
Percent of student management incidents resulting in exclusionary consequences [i.e., In School Suspension (ISS), Out of School Suspension (OSS), and Alternative Education Center (AEC)] will decrease from 41.2% in 2019 to 35% by 2026. (SY2021 interim goal = 38.0%)
During cycle 1 we had ZERO incidents resulting in exclusionary
consequences. Thank you for the work you are doing in your classes to build community and connect with your students.
We have had a total of 7 discipline incidents during cycle 1. Five of those were AUP violations. With the increase use of the internet for instruction comes some "learning-pains" for our students. Please remind your scholars that the District tracks everything they do on-line. So, if they search for something inappropriate...we'll know. This is also a great opportunity to visit with your class about not leaving their computer logged in when they are away from it. The student that is logged in, is the student responsible for how the computer is used.
Notes from Selena....
The second slide shows resources we have to help you in planning content. It would be great if all K-5 teachers attended the 'Small Group Reading Instruction for Remote and F2F Learners'. When you search in Strive for the course it will say K-3 but the content is appropriate for K-5.
We all know that small group time is where we make the biggest gains with our students. Let's hear what tips and resources can be used to make this time most profitable!
Duran, James, Parker, Brooker, Baltao and DeLeon- sign up in Strive for the next Writer's Workshops! :)
