Where it all began....

Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4, 1929 in Brussels, Belgium. Hepburn was born into a large family, her father was Joseph(Jhon) Victor Hepburn-Ruston. Mother Ella Van Heemstra. She also had two half brothers from her mothers previous marriage Alexander and Ian Qaurles Van Ufford.

Audrey's early life.

When Hepburn was only 8 years old when her father left her mother and her family. She was attending school in England. Then the war started and her mother thought she would be safer if they went to live with relatives in Holland. When the war invaded Holland it killed most of Hepburn's family. That left her mother struggling to fend for Audrey and herself. Sometimes they had nothing to eat except flour. Still Hepburn as a young dancer used her ballet skills to dance in shows to raise money for the dutch war effort. When the war ended her mother moved them to England, Where Hepburn kept dancing.

The start of acting.

When Audrey's mother and herself got to England she starred in small parts of films, Before being discovered in 1952. She had done lots of films before getting discovered such as, Dutch in seven lessons, Monte Carlo Baby, and Laughter In paradise. Hepburn had many large roles after being discovered as well 3 Big hits are 1953- Roman Holiday, and 1956- War & Peace. Another huge hit was 1961-Breakfast at Tiffany's. Where Hepburn portrayed character Holly Golightly. Hepburn acted on the big screen with a lot of big name actors and actresses such as Cary Grant, Rex Harrison, And Mel Ferrer. Mel who Hepburn married later on.

Starting a family.

After Audrey acted in 1967's spooky thriller '' Wait Until Dark.'' She decided to take a break from acting for herself. At the age of 40 Hepburn had her first child, a son named Sean Hepburn Ferrer. (Age 54 now.) With her husband of thirteen years physician Andrea Dotti. Hepburn only made 4 movies between 1976 and 1989. Her movies always ended with a short film of Hepburn as an angel.

Money was not an issue, besides her own income Hepburn, lived in Switzerland with Robert Wolders for the last 12 Years of her life. Hepburn continued to work for UNICEF and worked in the field nursing sick children and reporting on the suffering she witnessed. Hepburn traveled to Somalia in 1992, to attempt to assist with the famine. Audrey Hepburn was given the Screen Actors Guild award for lifetime achievement, Shortly before she passed away from cancer on January 20, 1993 at age 63. Hepburn was considered the UNICEF organizations, and Hollywoods fairy god mother.
