Pirates ROCK Got Character Program - Apply by May 2
As you are most likely aware, Platte County R-3’s Pirates ROCK (Raising Outstanding Character Kids) Character Education Program has historically recognized PCHS students’ positive character by nominating students for the “Got Character” poster series. You may have seen these posters in our school buildings and in local businesses. The poster series is intended to honor students at Platte County High School who will be role models for all students and who are living the Pirates ROCK character traits:
· January –Individuality: setting yourself apart from others
· February – Self Control: displaying your emotions & behaviors in a positive way
· March – Integrity: having a sincere, honest nature
· April – Perseverance: giving your best effort regardless of obstacles & rejection
· May – Respect: being considerate of others, property, rules & authority
· June – Cooperation: working & socializing with others to accomplish common goals
· July – Honesty: a willingness to say openly what is true
· August – Self-Confidence: having a positive belief in yourself
· September – Pride: a feeling of self-respect & worth
· October – Responsibility: being accountable for your actions without blame
· November – Citizenship: providing service and duty to your community
· December – Caring/Compassion: showing concern through words & actions
Starting with the 2016-17 school year, in partnership with the Platte County Prevention Coalition (PC2), PCHS combined the tenants of the “Got Character” poster series along with a “Got Character” trading card/mentorship program to further promote positive character traits and the mentorship of younger students by helping them realize they can “fit in” and be successful by making healthy choices and being drug-free.
Please view more information on the letter linked here.
IF INTERESTED, PLEASE COMPLETE AND RETURN THE ATTACHED APPLICATION TO THE PCHS FRONT OFFICE BY MONDAY, MAY 2, 2022.
You're Invited: Community Feedback Night - May 4, 2022
District parents and community members are invited to join us for an opportunity to share your feedback at our Community Feedback Night on Wednesday, May 4 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Platte City Middle School.
We will provide brief updates on the District's improvement actions as they relate to our Comprehensive Strategic Improvement Plan, and will also seek additional input from stakeholders on specific opportunities for improvement in each of our school buildings and strategic focus areas.
If you would like to attend, RSVPs must be made by May 1, by completing the form linked here.
Yearbooks for 2021-2022
You still can!
Order at www.yearbookforever.com before the end of April.
Cost is $70.00
We do not order any extra books. The only way to guarantee a book is to purchase one before April 29. Occasionally, the publisher will send some extra copies, but we have to save those in case books are damaged during shipping. Extra copies will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at registration in August of 2022, and will then be sold for $80.
The 2022 yearbook will be distributed during summer enrollment hours. Only those who pre-ordered a book will be able to pick it up at that point. Please have your receipt available in order to pick up your yearbook. This was emailed to you after you completed your purchase. It came from the publisher, not the school. If there are any extras left once all orders have been distributed, they will be sold at the $80 price.
