The Hunger Games
by Suzanne Collins
Book Review by Andriy Kurayev
How would you feel about living in a country with a cruel government? In The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins ; Katniss Everdeen lives in a country called Panem with her mother and her sister Prim. The main characters are Katniss and Peeta. Their country is divided into twelve districts, and due to a rebellion many years ago, each year, twenty four teenagers are selected for the hunger games. The hunger games is a competition between twenty four teenagers. This is a fight to the death; the last person standing is the victor. Every year there is a drawing in each district to select one female and male tribute. Prim, ( Katniss's sister) is picked to be a part in the hunger games. Prim is only twelve and she wouldn't stand a chance in winning the hunger games. Knowing this, Katniss volunteers to go instead of Prim. Peeta is the other male tribute selected for the hunger games from disrtict twelve. Katniss and Peeta train for the hunger games and they are both thoroughly prepared for the hunger games. Finally it is time for the hunger games, and Katniss and Peeta are up against many other dangerous teenagers who they will have to fight and maybe kill to get out of this alive. Who will survive?
This book is easily one of the best books I have ever read in my life. My favorite part is when Katniss is thrown into the arena and reading about how she copes in it. I also liked the fighting parts between the tributes. My least favorite part in The Hunger Games is when Peeta and Katniss are on the train heading for the capitol to the Hunger Games. I didn't like it because in that part there is barely any action and mostly it's just the characters talking. If I could change something it would be the part when they're on the train. I would like it if it was just a little bit shorter.
I would recommend this book to a person. Any person who likes a lot of suspense and action in their books would love The Hunger Games.

Gale or Peeta?
Katniss has always been with Gale while growing up. But in the arena she has to pretend to be in love with Peeta. But this ''pretending'' starts becoming more real and real. Throughout the book Katniss try's to decide who to be with in a romantic relationship, Gale--who she grew up with, or Peeta who defends her in the arena.
