Wow! We are completing our last full week of school. You should be so proud of how everyone in our school has stepped up to make this last, very weird quarter of school successful. Finishing the year online is exhausting too! Who knew? Our team does know that no matter what we face together, our team always steps up to take care of kids no matter what! I never dreamed of adding online education during a pandemic to our list of trials, but it turns out we are pretty dang awesome at that too! Only a few days until you can officially be on summer break. We've got this!
I want to thank everyone who helped bag up lockers for about 12 hours and those who helped with the 10 hours of drop-off and pick-up this week. It all ran perfectly, and it could not have happened without incredible people willing to help. Thank you!
Appreciate all you are doing!

Safe Schools Training
As per Kathy Robertson’s email, the FEMA IS-700 training requirement has been adjusted, and McKinney ISD staff are not required to complete the training at this time. Staff who completed the course and would like PD credit for the 2020-21 school year will need to enter this training into Strive. Be sure to enter that the credit is requested for the 2020-21 school year, June 1, 2020 – May 31, 2021. Go to Strive,My Professional Learning, Portfolio, My Portfolio, bottom left, Add New Entry, follow prompts for out-of-district training, make sure you attach your certificate of completion. Once this has been completed, Judi can then grant your credits. Contact Judi Turman, jturman@mckinneyisd.net, with any questions.

Celebrating 8th Graders
It looks like we are on for a "reverse parade" next week. Please consider joining for some last day of school fun!
Signs and noise makers are encouraged, but not required. We will have a large yard sign as well.
Plan to be there at 10:00 on May 27th and we will tell parents to drive through beginning at 10:15. Plan to be done by 11:00. We have never done this, but this seems realistic. The forecast is threatening to rain on our parade, so just watch emails in case we need to adjust last minute.
NOW, one FINAL project in May to celebrate these 8th graders…please take 15 seconds to send me a digital yearbook signature. Write it on plain paper, snap a picture, and email me. It can be a very short message (like a sentence) or just your signature. We will try to compile these into a cute one-pager(s) yearbook insert for students. This is not the time to write a lengthy original poem. We won’t have room for all that. These will be handed out as students enter the parade. Get these to me by Saturday so I can work on it over the weekend and get them printed.
Thanks to everyone who sent videos to Spinnato. She plans to have that ready for Tuesday. Can’t wait to see the final product.

Summer PD
Packing Up Classrooms
You may sign up for a day to pack up your classroom. I am limiting the number of people in the building to 15 each day, so only sign up in a highlighted cell. *Please limit the number of people in any hallway (6th, 7th 8th, Electives) to no more than 5 at a time. If we get started and need/want to adjust that we will. Let's just see how the schedule goes. Please label all of your items with your current room number and last name.
We are still working on building teams and assigning rooms so I can't give you directions for moving rooms just yet.
Room Clean Out Schedule/Sign Up
Please complete this revised EOY checklist as you work.
Please complete this EOY Technology Checklist as you work.
You may place completed checklists in Amber's box.
Campus Celebrations!
I still encourage you to use this link! While we are all isolated I know everyone would love some good news in their inbox.
If you sent a shout-out and I haven't share it, please let me know. I am still perfecting my system of keeping up with these.
Kudos!
Hi Miss Fox thank you so much for the gift I really really love you and I’m going to miss you so much and I hope to see you again one of these days of my summer or high school year I am truly blessed that I join this program so I can get out my comfort zone and actually meet new people that are like me and you teach me so many things that I didn’t even know for myself and even life lessons so I am really grateful for that and I love you so much I’m never going to forget you as my theater teacher and just can continue what you’re doing because it’s really great and you truly have a gift.

Mrs. Maki, Thank you for all you've done this year! It must have been a bit tiresome with this lockdown/quarantine and throughout this whole school year. It was a bit of fun being able to play a small game of trying to find small mistakes throughout the slides that you made (with animations). Thank you for being my geometry teacher this year, and I hope you keep teaching with the love of math that you have.-Sweet Student
