NAACP Parent Council Meeting Tuesday
Please come out Tuesday, January 16th at 6 p.m. for out next NAACP Parent Council meeting, and help brainstorm an agenda to be presented at the next NAACPPC County Meeting on Jan 22.
As parents we all have the opportunity to visit our schools, volunteer, meet with school administrators and leadership. Understanding the process and advocating for your child/school and school community is available to each and one of us.
These are critical times and voices must be heard and acted upon. We hope to see many of you there Tuesday evening. We have invited Dr. Bell, MCPS Director of Diversity Initiatives for our February meeting and Shebra Evans, 4th District, VP MC Board of Education, will carry on this discussion and more at our March meeting. Please refer to our website for calendar updates.

SGA Winter Clothing Drive
The Blake High School Student Government Association (SGA) is holding a winter wear drive for charity during January. This project is also part of our day of service work! Items will be collected from January 2 until January 31st
Everyone has things in the back of their closets or chests that nobody wears anymore (hats, coats, gloves, etc.) why not donate them so we can get them to people who are truly in need. Our goal is to collect 1,600 new or gently used items. The items will then be donated to charities that will make sure they go directly to those who need them.
If every student brings in ONE item we’ll have about 1,600 items to donate to organizations that give items directly to people who need them (NOT RE-SELLERS).
