Pennies For Patients Fundraising - Jan. 21st to 31st
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest non-profit health organization dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers. Your child will soon learn firsthand just how powerful he/she can be in helping others. Through participation in the Student Series' Pennies for Patients Program, students learn leadership, the importance of helping others and just how impactful their involvement can be in helping to save lives. During the programs, students collect donations from friends and family in honor of local student survivors and current patients. Students will participate in a kickoff assembly on January 21st and learn about the competition for fundraising.
For more information and to learn how you can support and to learn more about the LLS Student Series, Pennies for Patients, check out the website below:

MC^2 Parent Meetings #2 - Jan. 23rd
Please join us Thursday, January 23rd for Martin’s 2nd MC^2 Parent Meeting (Building Meaningful Connections and Meaningful Collaborations). Doors will open promptly at 4:15 p.m. Teachers will have two sessions, one at 4:30pm and the other at 5:30pm to allow parents to attend sessions for more than one child. Please be on time, as we will not be able to let late comers interrupt the meetings. If you come after 4:30, we will ask you to wait until the 5:30pm session starts. As you come in, you will be directed to your child’s classroom to learn how we are doing as a class and how your individual child is doing. You will learn about the end of the year grade level expectations and strategies to support their learning at home. We hope that you will be able to attend and take this opportunity to collaborate with our staff and learn strategies to support your child’s progress at Martin Elementary! 3rd and 4th graderd are encouraged to attend MC^2 to set STAAR goals with their parents. This is the second MC^2 meeting of the three this year. Our final MC^2 meetings will take place April 14th.
MC^2 Parent Meeting Night is a time for you to have an opportunity to learn about your child’s progress as well learn strategies and activities to improve your child’s academic performance. We respectfully request that students/children stay home with appropriate care providers. However, childcare will be provided for Martin age students during the MC^2 meeting.
