Notes from Nurse Julie

Things are moving so fast this year. We’re now in November, a month that reminds us to be thankful. We have so much to be thankful for. I hope each of your days are blessed throughout this month and the months to come.

Clinic information: This is another friendly reminder to please evaluate your child before sending them to school each day. If they have a temperature or any significant symptoms related to being sick, please keep them home and contact the front office staff to report why they're not here. Feel free to speak with the nurse also if you have any questions related to their illness.

For all 7th and 8th grade students, if you have not turned in your immunization records to the nurse please do so ASAP. The grace period is now up regarding vaccinations and calls will be made home to have your child picked up if you haven’t provided the nurse with the required documentation. This would be their immunization record showing they have received their TDAP and Meningitis vaccine OR a religious or medical exemption form (that is notarized) if you as the parent/guardian choose for them not to receive the vaccinations.

We are continuing to screen those students who were absent for the vision and hearing screens on October 6th. If your child failed you will be notified that an appointment with the eye doctor is recommended. Please let us know if you follow through with that.

If you have any questions regarding the above information please feel free to contact the school nurse at 540-298-1228 from 8:30-4:00.
