2021-2022 Future BMMS Raiders
Incoming 6th Graders

Welcome to Black Mountain Middle School
We are so excited to welcome you to Black Mountain Middle School. We understand that changing from the elementary school where you spent the last 6 years (or less) is a big transition to middle school. We got you!
We don't know yet if we will all be able to come back to campus for this upcoming year. But, we want to take a moment and say, you are our heroes. You've been making history the last year! No one else has ever had to do on-line learning while making adjustments. You've probably had a few glitches during the last year with computers, internet connections, and learning zoom. We admire your resilience.
We are looking forward to having you be a part of our BMMS Raider Family! We are here for you. If you need something or have a question, reach out and ask.
There is a lot of information in the newsletter that might answer your questions. We have even scheduled a Parent Information Night "Bridging" to provide information for your parents too.
In March, the Counselors along with our awesome ASB officers will be hosting zoom meetings to give you an opportunity to hear about BMMS. They will be answering your questions too.
Before school begins in August, we will have an orientation for all of you! Again, we don't know yet if it will be in-person, on-line, or a hybrid. We will be providing information about that as the time gets closer. So be sure to check our school's calendar and/or connect on our social media. Ed-Connect messages will also be sent out each week starting in August with updated information. So be sure to open the newsletter to get all the information to keep you up to date.
Wishing you a great school year for 2021-2022!

BMMS Playbook The Middle School Experience Our hope is that each and every student, before leaving Black Mountain Middle School, has learned the importance of self advocacy, intellectual grit, and tolerance. In this world, many people will do their best to look after you, but your best advocate is yourself. Learning will not always be easy. Strength is the product of struggle. You will become resilient by refusing to quit during intellectual struggles. We need to remind each other every chance we get that tolerance, kindness, and love are greater than other force in this world. Each day, we want our students to be happy, to learn, and to be safe. https://www.powayusd.com/en-US/Schools/MS/BMMS/Campus-Info/About-Us/2020-2021-BMMS-Playbook | Our Website | Communication Look for Weekly Principal Updates with information about the upcoming week, sent out on Sundays through the connect-ed system as an email with a link to the newsletter.
