CELEBRATE EARTH DAY
Tech Stretch: "DISCO"
What is it then, you ask? It's a library for discovery. DISCOVERY! That's right! This special spot hosts awesome videos from other educators. It's a place where you can borrow an idea, a lesson or just watch and get inspired to spice up your own creative learning opportunity on the grid. You can even search by age and content or for what's popular. You can access the Disco Library by visiting your FlipGrid and clicking the title at the top of the page labeled "Disco Library". Check out the short tutorial below and try a search out for yourself. #getinspired
Need an example from the Disco? Check out this sample activity that's related to current events or this other sample activity that could be used for an Advisory focus or switched up for a leader in history, etc. The list goes on.
Looking forward to your learning and reflection Pirates! Arrrgh!
CELEBRATE ONLINE PIRATE INSTRUCTION
Berry’s math class on google starts off with a video reviewing the assignments listed in the classwork section for the week. What a great way to talk through tasks and provide feedback on steps to take for learning and completion. Watch the overview video here. #overviewking
6th math nailed their use of slides for content instruction. Their slides are engaging, include a review of the previous week’s concept, new instruction, videos, practice and a place for formatives. You can visit Winberg’s Google Classroom or visit the slides directly for a little visual. #heythereorganized
Flipgrid madness! Need a new idea for Flipgrid fun and engagement? Check out how Millet used her grid for the good ‘old science. She’s got her video and topic/question and of course check out the cutie pop kiddo responses while you’re at it! #getonthegrid
Holdredge’s Advisory this week is packed with options for student expectations on Zoom and CPR Qs for their topic. Both expectations and CPR Qs are done in a variety of ways, prior to a live CPR, and are combined with ways to provide input so as to better prep kiddos for their meeting. Check out her week 3 Advisory classwork section. #boom

- Q4 Activities: Stay tuned! Student Government and Lighthouse are working on some Q4 virtual activities for everyone!
- Zoom: Families! In an effort to continue practices that ensure privacy for our students, we ask that you help with the log-in process when your child is on Zoom. When students join a Zoom meeting, we ask that they use their own log-in. This enables their name to show accordingly. This helps the teacher know who they are prior to approving them to join the meeting from the "waiting room." If a child uses a log-in other than their own, it's possible the teacher will not recognize their name and thus, not allow them to enter the Zoom meeting. If you need help on what this means, please share with your child's Advisor and they can assist you. Thank you!
