I LOVE My Class...Take 2!!
The title of this section of my newsletter says it all.... This is a GREAT group of kids who genuinely care about learning and growing. It is such a joy to watch them! Things that got me excited today, Friday...
- Yuvani is such an excited learner. Everything I teach her is met with excitement and wonderful enthusiasm!
- Natalie is a very serious student. She knows how to have fun (trust me...I've seen it), but when it's "study time" she knows how to switch gears and be all in!
- I was hanging out at home last night and received an e-mail from Austin. I recommended a book to him earlier in the week and he wrote to tell me that he LOVES the book! He made my night!
- An IA that works very closely with my students shared that she is absolutely amazed at Salma's reading improvement. I shared her thoughts with Salma. Her smile was wide the rest of the day!
- Siddarth is working very hard on his INTRODUCTION for his information writing piece. He persevered through my writing conference with a positive attitude..I even got a smile at the end!
- Bridget worked SO HARD on learning her spelling words this week. She told me she studied harder than she ever had. Her hard work paid off... 100% this week!
OK...there are more, way more... but, once again, I'll save them for next week!
Make sure you label your child's coat, hat, and gloves. There are so many items in the SRE Lost and Found.
FYI...I will be out Tuesday and Wednesday next week, November 14-15. I will be at the administration building for a training. I'd rather be in the classroom, but duty calls!
Looking forward to a GREAT week next week!
Enjoy your weekend...

Last Day for Canned Food Drive - November 15!
SRE CALENDAR
November 6-15 Canned Food Drive
November 15 PTO Meeting 6:30 pm
November 14-21 Book Fair
November 21 Grandparent's Day
Grandparent's Day
Grandparents’ Day is on Tuesday, November 21. Third grade classes will be hosting grandparents from 10:50-11:30. We will be doing an interactive activity using Nearpod. This will require A LOT of devices, since all of the third grade classes will be doing this. If there is a device your child (or their grandparent) can bring in, it would help accommodate our desire for all grandparents who are present to be able to participate. If your child does NOT have a grandparent that can come, a “special person” can come. All students will be involved and those that do not have a grandparent or special person present can be “adopted” by friend for our activity.
In addition to the Nearpod, we are hoping to set up some photo booths, where grandparents and children can use props to get their pictures taken. Here is how we need your help:
*A parent photographer that can bring a camera (not a cell phone) and take pictures. Then, leave the memory card with me and I will have prints made and then return the card.
*Props – any silly props you have that could be used in a photo booth. Maybe someone has mustaches, silly hats, etc. We would love your donations to make the photo booth fun!
Please let me know if you would be willing to take pictures in a photo booth for about 20 minutes! THANK YOU!
