How to be the best spartan you can be
Welcome to 6th grade!
Starting 6th grade is a very fun experience .this blog will show you everything you need to know to be a successful 6th grader. In your brand new middle school life, you will need to be more responsible for your own work and be respectful not only to teacher but to other students too. You will also need to be ready right when you get to class.
Lockers:how they work and how to open them efficiently.
At first, opening your locker can be a very confusing and frustrating experience but after you get it open, you will get it every time after. Lockers are for storing your things like your backpack or other things you don't need. To open your locker, you first need to have your combination with you or you won't be able to even open it. Second, you go up to you locker and then reset it. you do this by turning your locker to the right until it passes the 0 mark three times. Then, you turn right to your first number that you have on your combination. Then, turn left and pass 0 once. After that you keep turning left to your second number. After that, just turn right to your third number and if you followed the directions you will have opened your locker.
Basics of the schedule
The schedule seems a bit confusing at first, but with a little information on it you will be an expert on it in no time
How the schedule works
The schedule consists of at grand total of 7 classes and lunch. There are 5 core classes with 2 related arts classes. In 6th grade, lunch is between third and forth period, which are both related arts classes. Your schedule will be different from most other people. Don't be surprised if you don't see some of your old friends in any of your classes. You will still be able to hang out with them at lunch. The two related arts classes are not only randomized with the rest of the schedule, but they are also randomized each semester as there are a total of four related arts classes.
Getting to class on time
When the bell rings that means you go to your next class. You only have 3 minutes to get there so you gotta go fast. Going fast does not mean running as that is not allowed in the hallways. Instead you have to speed walk to class which if you've done it before, you will have a much easier time doing it. Speed walking if you don't know what it is, is walking to class at a faster pace than normal. Speed walking will be your best tool for getting to class on time.
Strike System
knowing these things will help you immensely with not getting any strikes throughout the whole year.
How the system works
The strike system will be in 6th grade along with 7th and 8th grade. The strike system is relatively simple with only a few things you should watch out for. The strike system will make you get strikes for bad choices and will reward you for good choices. The reward for not getting the maximum number of strikes (which is ten) is a free day at the end of the quarter. If you get 10 strikes before the quarter is over this free day will turn into a all day study hall.
How to Avoid Getting Strikes
Getting strikes will be easy for you if you don't know how to avoid them. To avoid getting a strike, you need to turn in completed assignments on time. You also need to be ready with a charged chrome book, your binder, and a pencil. Being respectful to teachers and other students is also crucial to not getting a strike.
