Note from the Principal
Please be thinking about how your family can help the Geist dream of the dinosaur dig pit and pavilion come to fruition. We will have a fundraiser in May to finalize our funds for this project. If your company offers any matching funds that would help our Geist Outdoor Learning Center come to reality, please contact Ms. Harvey at lharvey@hse.k12.in.us, Mrs. Galliher at sgalliher@hse.k12.in.us or Mrs. Beinecke at kbeinecke@hse.k12.in.us. These three teachers have worked very hard to make this dream come alive for our students!
Finally, I hope your child is coming home and sharing about our give back study trips! We are so excited for the work they will be doing in our community!
Have an amazing two weeks!

Keller's Clips - International Day of Happiness- March 20th, 2018
Tuesday, March 20th is the First Day of Spring AND International Day of HappinessJ!
At GES, we will be celebrating both by being mindful of spreading happiness, smiles and loving gestures. In our main hallway, each student will post a note about things and people who make them feel happy, how they spread happiness themselves or what they do to make themselves and others feel happiness.
We will focus on being mindful about ‘choosing happiness’ each and every day and being mindful of those things we chose to do and people we chose to hang around based on events, practices and personalities that help us feel good about ourselves and others.
During lunch, we will listen to ‘happy’ music and enjoy our friendships.
Happiness is to be celebrated as it is our daily right to make the choices that support our wellness and good-nature!
Please help us remind your kiddos to wear bright colors (or something that makes them feel good) on Tuesday, March 20th to help us celebrate Spring arriving and to celebrate with the rest of the world—Happiness!

PE News
In PE, we are working very hard on making exercise videos in grades 3 and 4. Each video consists of activities within the 5 components of fitness. Ask your child what activity they chose and what category of fitness it belongs.
In grades K-2 we are completing fitness assessments of basic movement skills. Some of the skills include pace of jogging, skipping, galloping, hopping on 1 and 2 feet. Also included are skills such as the grapevine step, zig zag jogging and beginning rope jumping skills.
