This is Week #11 of Semester 1. This is the second week of Marking Period #2. Please remember to set goals with your student(s) and help them monitor their progress.
REPORT CARDS: Report cards for Marking Period 1 were released Friday (11/5) on MiStar/Parent Connect. Paper report cards will NOT be mailed, so please note that this will be the only form of reporting.

TIGER DRAMA!
The BHS Tiger Drama Club presents the play Rumors on November 19th and 20th in the BHS auditorium. Tickets are available the day of the performance. Masks are required to attend. For more information, contact jcarlin@vanburenschools.net or atedaldi@vanburenschools.net.

Student Council Updates
The next Tiger Parent Meeting will be held this Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.due to a conflict with the Virtual College Fair scheduled for the following week. The 2021 BHS Holiday Craft and Vendor Show will take place on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at the BYC which is located at 832 Huron River Drive in Belleville. November is National Career Development Month
National Career Development Month in November signals a time for students to focus on their future career choices. Each week, the counseling team will post videos/documentaries from roadtripnation.com that we think will help jumpstart students’ career development and/or research. The featured documentary this week is Beating the Odds.
Early College Alliance (ECA) Fall 2022 Enrollment
Did you know that students can earn college credits while in high school? Students can apply to the Early College Alliance (ECA) @ Eastern Michigan University. Students can earn up to 60 college credits at Eastern Michigan University! This is a savings of approximately $30,000! Applications will be available soon.
Want to learn more about ECA, please consider attending the upcoming Shadow Days for students: 11/2, 11/15, & 12/10. Also, Information Sessions for you and your Parents/Guardians: 11/15, 11/30, 1/13, & 2/8. Please click on the link below for more information or see your counselor.
Attention 9th Grade Families:
SMASH applications are now available! SMASH is a FREE STEM-intensive college prep program for students underrepresented in STEM. SMASH is committed to eliminating the barriers faced by these students and helping prepare them for STEM degrees and careers. Students begin their SMASH journey at Academy the summer after 9th grade. This is a wonderful opportunity for 9th grade students to learn more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) related careers!

Attention AP Student families:
Sunday, November 14th is the last day to order an AP exam on Total Registration before the College Board adds the $40.00 late fee.
Upcoming Events:
ASVAB Testing- The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery will be offered at BHS on November 16th at 7:30 am. This test is NOT required for students to take.
If you are thinking about joining the military after high school, please sign-up to take the ASVAB. The ASVAB is required for entrance into the military.
The ASVAB can also be useful for many other reasons, including identifying personal strengths and potential for success in different careers. Help yourself to find your Dream Career and make appropriate goals during High School and for your Post Secondary plans. In essence, the ASVAB can help you to learn more about yourself!

COLLEGE FAIR!
Belleville High School will host its Annual College Fair on Wednesday, November 17th at 6:30pm. This year’s college fair will be virtual. There will be over 30 colleges and universities present. This event is open to ALL BHS families.
