~New Announcements~

PROM TICKETS GO ON SALE AT LUNCH ON MONDAY, MAY 2nd

Tickets will be on sale at the business office or online at the AGHS webstore. Tickets will be $50 this week and going up to $60 next week so save money by buying early. A reminder, your Prom contract must be completed and turned in.

After reviewing nearly 50 applications, interviewing three dozen students, and reading hundreds of letters of recommendations, our ASB Executive Panel is proud to announce our class for the 2022 school year:

GREEK WEEK T-SHIRT SALES

From Monday, May 2 - May 6, t-shirts will only cost $5. After that date until May 18th, t-shirts will cost $8. Greek Week t-shirts can be purchased at the AGHS webstore or at the Student Business Office. Five points per shirt will be earned for purchasing your designated class color. Show you class pride and buy one soon!

MAKE SURE TO CLEAR YOUR ABSENCES

Clear Absences by Midnight Monday, 5/24/22. Attendance Month Deadline - Please make sure that the Attendance Office is informed of the reason for any still unverified absences for 4/25/22 - 5/20/22. After that date, we will not be able to make any changes.

WORK PERMITS

Attention all students that plan on working this summer. Please submit a completed work permit request form to Mr. Coville ASAP, or email him at trevor.coville@lmusd.org. Anybody that needs their current permit extended can stop by Room 510, or email Mr. Coville as well.

NEW CLASSES NEXT SCHOOL YEAR

Two new, one-semester classes will be offered next school year as elective credit. In the fall there will be Intro to Psychology and in the spring Ethnic Studies. Please see your counselor or Ms. Peters (room 306) for more information! Students must enroll in these classes by Friday, May 6.

Lookin for a different elective which offers visual arts credit, enjoying the new student driven bulletin, have an interest in video editing, filming commercials, making professional quality videos or just want to be a part of the crew...well then you should join us next year. Dance Company performance in the Clark Center May 4th at 7pm. Tickets are $10, Come Check us out!!

Blood Drive

FNL SPRING BLOOD DRIVE

Sign-up for the annual FNL Spring Blood Drive! Participants will earn 5 hours of community service for their donation, along with the opportunity for other awesome prizes from Vitalant Blood Services! Must be 16 or older to donate. Space is limited and sign-ups close on May 17th. Come and sign-up with Mr. Sligh in Room 308 today!

SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINES ARE LOOMING! There are a few local scholarships left to apply for so don’t miss out. Stop by the Career Center in #208 for more info.

~Seniors~

COLLEGE VISITS: Seniors and juniors planning a college/military visit should stop by the Attendance Office to pick up an Excused Absence Request form ahead of their visit. If approved, up to two days may be excused. Visits that will last longer than two days would require a Short Term Independent Study Contract to excuse the absence.


REMINDER THAT SENIOR SURVEYS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, MAY 3RD

Failure to fill out the form will result in not being eligible to buy a prom ticket, participating in upcoming senior events, etc. Go to the Class of 2022 to find the link to the form.

Cuesta Help!! Need help with Dual Enrollment, First-time Registration, and Enrichment?? Cuesta is here to help! They are on campus in room 913 every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4-9 pm. No appointment is needed.

Homework Center

The Homework Center has new hours! From 3:00-4:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, come to the HW Center to have a quiet place to focus and complete your work! Be sure to show up before 3:15 as the HW Center will close if there are no students by then. See you there!

The Google Form for Community Service Hours is used for the graduation requirement of 20 hours. Any hours in addition to your graduation requirement should be submitted on the Give Back 250 Google Classroom with Mr. Hurtado.

LIGHTHOUSE REALITY TOUR

Lighthouse's next Reality Tour is coming up on Monday, May 23rd at the Atascadero Lake Park Pavillion. This event is open to all parents and children throughout our county. The event is appropriate for children aged 12 and older and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The goal of the event is to foster a dialogue between children and parents regarding the risks of drug abuse.

REMINDERS: STAFF: Wear your ID when on campus. Progress reports grading window opens on 5/3 and closes on 5/10. All Ds and Fs must have a comment code and Advisory is CR or NC only.


TEACHER PARTICIPATION: As case managers and counselors are setting up meetings with students with Fs, it is absolutely vital and expected that all teachers participate in IEP, 504 and SST meetings. It is imperative that you provide your feedback and participation...a sub can be provided if needed, just let the case manager know. Please indicate on the calendar invite why you can’t make it if you decline.


Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and that can only mean the return of potatoes, breakfast cart, and strawberry shortcakes! In addition, New Life Community Church will be treating staff to breakfast burritos on Monday morning.
