Experiential Learning Activities in Art

"Art is to console those who are broken by life."

Vincent Van Gogh

Hello Art Students,

I am Mrs. Crow and I will be offering a variety of experiential learning activities this year at Achieve Online!

Some of my ideas for the year include:

  • Supporting students as artists through independent practice
  • Leading hands-on art experiences with diverse art media
  • Guiding students in courses and providing extra support
  • Encouraging students to experience art in the community through field trips
  • Facilitating special art projects at Achieve, throughout D11, and in the broader Colorado Springs area

Students will be able to meet with me at school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12-2:45.

Call for Artists!

Achieve Online student art will be featured at the Colorado Springs School District 11 Administration Building throughout the month of December. Please let me know if you have art you created this year that you would like to display. Feel free to contact me at 719-648-7859 to set up a time to drop off your art. I am excited to see your artistic skills recognized in December by D11!

AP Art Students

AP Art Students are more than welcome to work in the building on Monday and Wednesday. They can use materials provided in the classroom and get feedback on projects and sketches from myself and the students.

Ceramics Students

Ceramics students are more than welcome to work in the art room with clay and tools on their projects. It would be awesome to see you and support you! If you need to pick up clay, I can have this ready for you too! Let me know.

Weekly Art Enrichment and Art Club Schedule

This Monday and Wednesday, students will continue work on various projects including the Cultural Art Project and the Classroom Mural during the Art Club and Enrichment period from 1:15-2:30.

Art Challenges will be offered on Monday and Wednesday to expand and enrich students' knowledge of art and experiences with a variety of art media and techniques.

Students will debrief and do a formal check-out from 2:30-2:45. We may also use this time to share our sketchbooks.

Congrats to Lucian!

Lucian Smith created this pencil drawing and submitted it to a local, community Art Show at the Rockrimmon Branch of the Pikes Peak Public Library! It will be on view through the month of October! We are so proud of you and your creativity, Lucian! The Open House will be on October 31 at 5pm at the Rockrimmon Library!
