Mrs. Millstein's Weekly Update!
October 21st - October 25th
We had a blast at Cherry Crest Farms! Be sure to check out the video!
What we did this week:
- We learned the sight words: want, good, said, catch, no and put
- We learned how to write a friendly letter. We learned a letter needs to have a greeting, body and closing.
- We focused on sequencing in literature. We read different reading group books and sequenced the events in the story.
- We worked more on turn around facts in math. We learned that you can solve addition and subtraction problems using the same numbers.
- In STEM, we learned about how animals protect their young offspring. We investigated different animals and how they feed their young.
What we're up to next week:
- We will learn the new sight words: be, of, could, old, horse, paper
- We will focus on writing a spooky Halloween story. We will make sure we have a beginning, middle and end in our story. We will also have a problem and solution.
- We will continue to work on solving addition and subtraction problems in math using the different strategies. In addition, we will be working on word problems.
- We will start a new unit in Social Studies on learning about the Pilgrims and Native Americans and how the first Thanksgiving started!
We had our monthly Learning Buddies with 3rd Grade!
