Key Beliefs

Hindu's are polytheistic, which means they believe in many different gods. They believe in reincarnation, which is the rebirth of your soul into another body. They also believe in karma and dharma. Karma is your duties and dharma is your deeds. If you have good karma and dharma you will go to nirvana (heaven).

Caste System

The caste system is their social structure. They have to work their best in their current life to move up in the caste system. The caste system determines their marriage and their job. The lowest class is the untouchables. They are the lowest of the low. .

Gandhi

Gandhi was a nationalist leader for Hindu's. He started the salt march, which is where he and his followers marched to the sea to get salt. Gandhi had gone to prison for disobeying British law.

The spread of Hinduism

This religion was spread through the act of trade, conquest and missionaries. The salt march and the Amritsar Massacre are examples of civil disobedience and human rights violation.
